Our Purpose

The Lethbridge Newcomers Club is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers for the benefit of its members. Our club does not receive any public financial support and relies completely on its membership dues to pay its bills.
The club's mandate is two fold:
  • to assist newcomers and potential Lethbridge residents in their transition to life within this city

  • to encourage past members and existing residents to participate in activities with the club.
We do this by exposing the members to fun and exciting social get-togethers hosted by our volunteers at public and private locations. Activities range from nature walks, wine socials, coffee hours, dinner theatres, barbecues, card nights, and a monthly club dinner held at a local restaurant. Activities vary from month to month depending upon the interest of the membership and local events in the area.

A complete list of the activities organized by the club can be found by clicking here.

The club consists of adult men and women, married and single, both young and mature, from all walks of life.
We invite you to join us for a toast to the good life in Lethbridge, Alberta!

Our History

There are many established newcomers clubs across Canada. The first New Comers Club was formed in Calgary, Alberta by Ms. Kay Dant in 1961.

A national organization to unify the newcomer voices was formed in 1978. The Lethbridge Newcomers Club was formed October 3rd, 1979.

Over the years, our club has evolved and has successfully helped newcomers to Lethbridge by introducing them to new friends and helping them become aware of activities and programs within the area.
